Fuku Clay Whistle
An adorable handcrafted whistle
These folk toys are moulded and painted by hand by the artisans of the Tsuyazaki workshop, which has been based in Fukutsu (Fukuoka) for over 200 years. Each piece is made individually using a blend of local clay and natural pigments.
Depicting a puffer fish, or fugu, this whistle is called Fuku, which means both ‘luck’ and ‘to blow’.
