Sometsuke Dish – Cow & Chicken
An illustrated dish as simple as it is useful
Inspired by classic Sometsuke (‘blue and white’) porcelain, Dutch illustrator Jacco Bunt designed this series of small dishes using references to traditional Japanese woodblock prints and design and architecture from the Netherlands.
This trinket tray, called mamezara, or “bean dish,” is traditionally used for seasonings or appetisers, but is also the perfect catchall dish for spare change, keys, jewels or stationery items. Each piece can easily be combined and stacked with the other items in the collection.
Due to its handcrafted nature, each piece can present slight variations in colour and thickness.
