A collection brimming with tenderness

Designed by Swiss illustrator Fanny Dreyer, the Akae collection takes its name from the ancient red porcelain produced in Arita from the 17th century onwards. On these imperfectly shaped, ivory-glazed pieces, the artist has created a nostalgic world of children, animals and landscapes inspired by the island of Kyushu, the birthplace of Japanese ceramics.

The illustrations in this collection are transferred by hand onto the glazed ceramic, creating slight variations in layout from one piece to another.
