This all-natural tea caddy is made from cherry bark from the Akita region of northern Japan, using traditional Kabazaiku craftsmanship. The rough finish on the outside of the box contrasts with its delicately polished and waxed interior.

Cherry bark has antibacterial properties and is permeable to air and moisture, helping to maintain an ideal humidity level for storing delicate tea leaves. Thanks to the meticulous work of Tomioka artisans, it is also watertight.
